I write because....

Image
This post is a part of  Write Over the Weekend , an initiative for  Indian Bloggers  by BlogAdda Chosen among the Loved posts!! "Again you are scribbling..Can't you put your nose off your books and papers for sometime?" my mother snaps at me as I scribble a poem. "Oh ma! Atleast listen to what I wrote" "Hmm...tell" "Ahmm ahmm" I pretend to clear my throat and My mum laughs back. "Will you open your mouth or should I go back to kitchen?" "Oh!No-no please!" I say quickly and grab her by elbow. Who doesn't want audience? ;) Listen," Life's unpredictable, Can't say when it would take a turn. We can't really say, When life might be deprived of all fun. It's true, What elders say, You should know to walk alone; No matter  Come what may. She smiles and looks at me for some time curiously. "You write well and what you've written is indeed true."...

*FICTION* She looked at her face which had grown dark in color...."tanning", she told herself and thought, "How long it has been since I looked at myself in mirror." She looked at her hair which had grown a good-length in the last four months and the split-tends which splurged through her hair. It had been six months since she had gone for a hair cut... She looked at the face-wash and moisturizer which had been lying unused for the months then and a sunscreen lotion which she had not bothered to replace with cold cream for winters. "Where have I lost myself? Infact, have I really lost myself?? If yes, where?" the thoughts kept daunting her while she was still looking in the mirror. The way she is, she tried to push her thoughts back and made her way out of wash-room although this wasn't something that was going to leave her and she too knew that. Something caught her from behind and she had to look back, she didn't know what was tha...

Happy B'day, Dear daughter !!

Image
*FICTION* She came home late that night and went to bed straightly. She picked her laptop and checked her mails. As she opened the second mail, she froze for a moment....  Dad's mail!!!   . As she opened ,  it read: Dear Princess, Wish you a very happy B’day! Come home today! Let’s celebrate. Love, Papa   J Her joy knew no bounds. Tomorrow was her B’day and her dad and she was not on talking terms for six months now. She was happy beyond limits. Just at the moment, her phone rang! As she held the phone in her hands, she realized it was the alarm and it was 6 a.m. in the morning. She understood that it was a dream. She thought about the dream again and re-read the email several times from her mind. She felt like crying. For a moment she wanted to call her Dad but then decided against it. Her head was aching so she went back to sleep instead. Within 15 minutes she realized that she couldn't sleep anymore. Sh...

Soak No More...Oh Ekta Kapoor!!!

Image
Who didn't know that Ram and Priya will meet again in Bade Ache Lagte Hain?? Okay Ekta had already made announcement for it. But who didn't know that they will meet like this????????? Soak no more ……….My heart cries to Ekta kapoor, The K reative head of Balaji, who has again made the same story where girl goes underground for some years, gives birth to baby, the baby meets his’her father ( who don’t know each other, ofcourse) and then there is re-meet with same expressions, same dialogues ! And The best part is when father meets his baby, there are sooooooooo many similarities.                                    The same happened in Kasauti zindagi Kay too. Wish there was a video over you tube. But here’s an extract from the Wikipedia The story takes a leap forward of eight years . Prerna, Anurag, Bajaj, Aparna and Komolik...

Shopping at a click!!

Image
You know what? If you are reading me today here, that’s because of online shopping. Really!! Confused?? Well yes! My story of online shopping started in February this year w hen I completely lost my interest in that 10 to 7 accounts-tax work! On week days it was “Get up-office-comeback-sleep”, On Sundays, it was “sleeeeeeeeeeep”. That was when I found peace in reading books that I used to borrow from a colleague ( I used to read sometimes in office time also :P ). Books that were different from the few college life romances I had read till then . And I started to enjoy reading. After I left my office, I was sure it would kill me to sit idle at home the whole day. And I wanted something new. A hobby may be. And what better than reading Books? But the fact is I hate going to shopping! At least at that point I used to. :P and there was no shop nearby which sells novels. At least which I wanted. Only academic books you see! That was when a frien...

Love Ya Arranged!!!

Image
Its raining Contests on Indi-Blogger really! And with such a topic where almost every body has something to say, I really had a hard time deciding what a 21 year old girl can say about some thing about which She has no personal Experience. And almost every thing has been said about the topic so as of now nothing really remains to mention. Still Here's what I have to say....                                   Why marriage is seen as an end and not the beginning of a journey? Why arranged or love have been such important prefixes to marriage in our society? I don’t understand!! I have seen a lot of parents telling their daughters or even sons when they face some problems in their married lives “ we told you not to marry this girl/guy, now suffer!” or if not this blunt, then “we told you not to marry this girl/guy, now we have no say. Sort it out yoursel...

Her Hair-Story....

*FICTION* H is 29. On 12 th of this September, she will be 30. Still unmarried, she never even had a boy-friend. Having born to a conservative family where it has been like a vow taken by family to stick their old beliefs and stubborn enough to ignore anything new, it would have been a crime worse than murder to have a boy-friend. But then, she also didn't want to have one. Never been a person of sure-shot confidence, She graduated when she was 21, then did a post graduation certificate course in women studies, all from correspondence  and then sat at home because girls in her family are supposed to “not do a job”.  Not that it was because of apparent hair-loss, but a general acceptance of a family culture, according to which it was time to look for a groom. Letting a girl out of house for a”job” would have resulted in lesser no. of proposals in a conservative society like hers. But it was never a matter to think about for H. It was another right thing that her...
