Once Upon A Time...

Once upon a time I had dreams... Dreams of everything I could ever be... I was young, very young So young that I actually lived my dreams... In dreams ofcourse! Thinking that they Might come true one day... My dreams were of dance... Dancing from the heart Performing on stage For so long and to an extent That everyone gets up and applaud And say my name Not with contempt But with love... My dreams were of mathematics... Of problem solving! Believing firmly That one day I would solve it all... My dreams were of English To have that command over language To speak like a pro... Hoping that one day I'll communicate exactly what I mean... My dreams were of academics To clear CA in one go Wishing everyone to go 'awww' Over my success... My dreams were of love Of love & romance Exactly like those in fairy tales... Dreams of a soulmate... Convinced, I was That someone would actually turn up someday And relieve me... Once upon a tim...

Letting go....

I hear the forced ease in his voice And perhaps I understand now, So I choose to let it go... You meet someone and see a reflection of your soul And all you want, is to know him better, To speak, to tell, to hear Without any commitment, any promise. But sometimes, the other persons has his doubts The other person has his fears So I choose to let it go.... Destiny is what makes two souls meet But we choose who we want in life who we do not, When he has made a decision, I must respect that. So, I choose to let him go..... And I know, I have a life to live, and not just live but live to the fullest, So I choose to let him go And live his dreams And I'll live mine. Coz this time I cant afford to lose myself for anything, any place, any expectation or anyone, For any regrets And keep faith That whatever happens, happens for the best. So I choose to let him go.... (c) Priyaa Arora Letting go.....it's important, no??? Situations arise and teach you...

A soft touch!!

Before today, It had never happened to me. Just yesterday I was tired, little upset (for a silly reason), had a bit of pain in my legs n back ( because of dance classes) and just couldn't sleep till it was 2:30. I was reading Harry Potter #3 but the sad part is this is the only harry potter movie I have watched many times so wasn't able to enjoy it properly :-/ . ( Some of you might be wondering over it but its good you know that I haven't seen them properly. I can read all the parts enjoying them to the fullest!! ) At 5:30 am or nearby, My phone rang. It was a fitful sleep already, so I woke up almost immediately. It was my   jiju (brother-in-law)  on the other side, announcing so darn happily over phone," Congratulations jee, aap maasi bann gye ho!! :D" (Congratulations, You have become an aunt). My sister (cousin) gave birth to baby boy and I was happy beyond limits. He's the first one next generation actually. I told my mother, congratulated the new...

This post is a part of  Write Over the Weekend , an initiative for  Indian Bloggers  by BlogAdda Chosen among the Loved posts!! "Again you are scribbling..Can't you put your nose off your books and papers for sometime?" my mother snaps at me as I scribble a poem. "Oh ma! Atleast listen to what I wrote" "Hmm...tell" "Ahmm ahmm" I pretend to clear my throat and My mum laughs back. "Will you open your mouth or should I go back to kitchen?" "Oh!No-no please!" I say quickly and grab her by elbow. Who doesn't want audience? ;) Listen," Life's unpredictable, Can't say when it would take a turn. We can't really say, When life might be deprived of all fun. It's true, What elders say, You should know to walk alone; No matter  Come what may. She smiles and looks at me for some time curiously. "You write well and what you've written is indeed true."...

Late at night.........

Late at night, He sits with unsleepy eyes and a rubik's cube in hand, trying to solve      but in vain. Just the way the day had been. Late at night He sits with his camera trying to spot and capture what might have been going missing from his naked eyes. All in vain.. Late at night He sits with books trying to read and find out something, something vital that He doesn't yet know.. but to no avail !! Late at night He sits in front of the computer screen with the key board in hand trying to write what can't be said, Still in vain... Late at night He opens the windows and stands in chill for half an hour only to realize that the night has ended and its early morning Yet again!! (c)2012 Priyaa Arora Like my page On Facebook  HERE

Emptiness......

Scribbled this poem around 2 yrs back.  …sharing it now J Emptiness The Day comes, And the night Knocks Alone I sit, listening To the sound of the clock Witnessing the Emptiness Of every single second & waiting For it to pass & hoping That the next one that will come Would be a moment of joy and fun! But never does it happen And every tickling of the pendulum Adds an hour more of loneliness, An hour more of boredom, Giving me some more pain And rendering me the same, Waiting for it over again, That perhaps the next one to come Would be a moment of joy and fun. And the day ends. Once again I see that I spent A day more of empty moments. What a terrible Bore! My heart torments. But still waiting For the next to come. Again hoping It will bring some joy Again hoping It will bring some fun.   ©2012 Priyaa Arora PS- Each word you read is exactly how I felt those days. Like my page O...

Teen-age Blues!!

I am hell of an insomniac…..mere 4 5 days off from the work, the routine is gone, body clock is disturbed and mind starts wandering…..However this time, thanks to a shift of room ( yes, my family has finally understood that a 21 yrs old girl is a grown up and needs a separate room…thank you God J ) and this blog, that sleepless nights are not spent on futile thinking. Tonight, I just opened an old diary I used to maintain earlier to write poems (from class 8 th to class 12 th ). I am smiling at some of the stupid poems I had scribbled, perfectly rhyming and with no meaning. No actually it’s not devoid of meaning but somehow the incidents I remember which had inspired me to write sounds so childish that I want to laugh.   Any ways here is the poem. Teenage Blues!! Hey! I want a change. But things have gone beyond my range But still I know I can change it. And I think I can face it. I can do what I feel like my duty, What I can do on my part. ...

Dreams Unfulfilled!!

Its a poem I scribbled 3-4 days back. I felt like sharing. So here I am, in the Blogosphere!! Dreams Unfulfilled Here I am Lying on this bed Watching the fan above Thinking about the dreams Those left just dreams Rendering a pain Deep in heart, Unseen, unfelt, unknown To those around me. This fan is moving As fast as he can. He is in full swing Taunting at the slow me Unable to move Towards my dreams. A tear falls down my eye & mom shouts my name. I close my eyes Pretending to be asleep. She comes to my room, Sits beside me Does not wake me up… Thinking, I might be In a beautiful dream! ©  2012 priyaa arora ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wednesday, 6th june,2012 : Just found that carry on tuesday has  a prompt this week which matches this poem of mine, so I have submitted this post as an entry.
